Apple® iPhone® - Turn Voice & Data On / Off - HD Voice

HD Voice provides clear, natural-sounding audio when a call is placed from one HD Voice-enabled phone to another while connected to our 4G LTE network.

Caution HD Voice isn't recommended if you're using a 1X/3G Network Extender or a TTY/TDD device but must be turned on when using a 4G LTE Network Extender.

Note Notes:

  • Must be in a Verizon 4G LTE coverage area and have an HD Voice capable device set up to use simultaneous voice and data.

  • HD Voice is enabled by default when both the physical SIM and eSIM are activated on your Dual SIM with an eSIM capable iPhone.
  • The steps below apply to the following models:
    • iPhone X / XS / XS Max / XR
    • iPhone 8 / 8 Plus
    • iPhone 7 / 7 Plus
    • iPhone SE
    • iPhone 6 / 6 Plus / 6s / 6s Plus

 

  1. From the Home screen, navigate: Settings Settings icon > Cellular.
  2. Tap the Cellular Data switch to turn on Switch On.
  3. Tap Cellular Data Options.
  4. Tap Enable LTE.
  5. Tap Voice & Data to turn on.
    Note Turned on when a checkmark is present.
    Note To turn HD Voice off, tap 'Data Only' or 'Off'.

 

Note HD Voice is supported only on HD Voice capable Bluetooth® headsets and is included with existing voice plans and minutes are billed as regular voice calls. For additional info, see these HD Voice FAQs.
