Apple® iPhone® - Turn International CDMA On / Off

Note Notes:

  • The steps below apply to the following models:
    • iPhone X
    • iPhone 8 / 8 Plus 
    • iPhone 7 / 7 Plus
    • iPhone SE
    • iPhone 6 / 6 Plus / 6s / 6s Plus
    • iPhone 5 / 5c / 5s
  • Follow these steps for the iPhone 4s (not available on the iPhone 4).


  1. From the Home screen, navigate: Settings Settings icon > Cellular > Cellular Data Options.
  2. Tap Roaming.
  3. Tap the Voice Roaming switch to turn on Switch On or off Switch Off.
    Note Voice Roaming must be on for the Data Roaming and International CDMA options to be available.
    Note To enable Data Roaming, tap the Data Roaming switch to turn on.
  4. Tap the International CDMA switch to turn on or off.
    Note CDMA is a wireless technology that Verizon Wireless uses to place and receive calls within the US and some global destinations.
    Note Turning off International CDMA while in another country may improve poor messaging or data performance.
