Apple® iPhone® - Turn Find My iPhone On / Off

Note Notes:

  • If you are unable to access the device or it is unresponsive, Find My iPhone can be disabled online via iCloud.
  • To disable Find My iPhone, the device must have a valid connection to either a Cellular Data or Wi-F network. Without a connection, Find My iPhone is disabled on the device but not from Apple's servers.
  • The steps below don't apply to the iPhone 4s or iPhone 4.

 

  1. From a Home screen, tap Settings Settings icon.
  2. From the main settings screen, tap your name (at the top).
    Note If necessary, tap the left arrow (upper-left) as necessary to return to Settings.

  3. Tap Find My.
    Note For devices running iOS 12.4 and lower, tap iCloud.
  4. Tap the Find My iPhone switch to turn on Switch On or off Switch Off.
    Note If prompted, enter your Apple ID password then tap Turn Off.
  5. If desired, tap the Send Last Location switch to turn on or off.
