Pixel™, Phone by Google - Turn Voice & Video On / Off - HD Voice

Caution Caution:

  • HD Voice isn't recommended if you use a 1X/3G Network Extender or a TTY/TDD device.
  • HD Voice on the smartphone must be turned on if you use a 4G Network Extender.
  • If located in Alaska, it's not recommended to turn off HD Voice for troubleshooting purposes as it causes the device to roam off the Verizon Wireless network.

Note HD Voice is also called Advanced Calling and requires a Verizon 4G LTE coverage area to do simultaneous voice and data.

  1. Ensure HD Voice is activated.
    Note Must be activated for option to appear on the device.
  2. From a Home screen, touch and swipe up to display all apps.
  3. Navigate: Settings Settings app icon > Network & Internet Network & Internet settings icon > Mobile Network Mobile network icon.
  4. Tap Advanced Down arrow icon then tap the Advanced Calling switch to turn on On switch or off Switch off.
  5. If presented, review the disclaimer regarding billing and data usage then tap OK to confirm.
  6. With the Advanced Calling switch on, tap Carrier video calling to turn on or off.
