Add, Edit or Remove Parent / Child Roles - Verizon Smart Family™ - My Verizon app

Note Notes:

  • Only 2 devices can be set as parent and the Account Owner is the primary parent.
  • To perform the steps below, you need to:
    • ensure the My Verizon app is installed and up to date as the following steps apply to the most recent version.
    • have an Android® device running 4.0 or higher or an Apple® iOS device running 10.0 or higher. For all other devices, visit verizonwireless.com to sign in and manage your account.
    • sign in using a My Verizon user ID or mobile number that has Account Owner or Manager access privileges.
    • ensure the child device is powered off prior to adding or removing blocks, restrictions, limits, etc.
      Note Changes to these items may take up to 15 minutes to appear on your account.

 

  1. From the My Verizon app, tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-left).
  2. Tap Account.

  3. Tap Verizon Smart Family.

  4. Select the appropriate mobile number.

  5. Tap Settings.

  6. Tap Manage roles.

  7. Select the appropriate mobile number.

  8. Select one of the following then tap Assign role (at the bottom).
    Note Available options (Parent, Child, Unassigned) vary depending upon mobile number's current role.
    Note To enable a device as parent, the mobile number must be an Account Manager in My Verizon.
    Parent
    Manages limits, activity and contacts.
    Child
    Has limits and time restrictions.
    Unassigned
    Has no restrictions.
