Change Device Operating Mode to LAN - VZAccess Manager - Verizon Wireless USB551L 4G USB Modem

Note To use your USB modem with Windows 10, you need to:

  • uninstall any previous versions of VZAccess Manager.
    Note From the Windows desktop, navigate: Start menu icon Start menu icon > Settings > System > Apps & features > VZAccess Manager > Uninstall.
  • download VZAccess Manager version 7.10.0.1 (2823b).
    Note The appropriate version is located under the Windows 8.1 32/64-bit column for the Verizon 4G LTE USB551L.
  • select the LAN Adapter option during the driver installation process (see instructions below).

 

  1. Locate then double-click VZAM_7.10.0.1_2823b_Novatel551L_Win81.exe.
    Note Typical location is File Explorer > Downloads.
  2. When presented with the Select type of Wireless Network Driver screen, select LAN Adapter then click Next.
    Note The Wireless Network Driver screen appears after the license agreement.

  3. Complete the remaining steps of the driver and VZAccess Manager installation.
  4. Ensure your USB modem is connected to the computer then open the VZAccess Manager app.
    Note From the Windows desktop, navigate: Start menu icon Start menu icon > VZAccess Manager.
    Note Allow several seconds for VZAccess Manager to detect the modem.
  5. Verify the modem is operating in LAN Adapter mode then establish a connection to the Internet.
