Usage Controls - Manage Blocked Contacts

Caution This info only applies if you currently subscribe to Usage Controls, as this add-on is retired and can't be re-activated once removed.  Additional call and message blocking options include:

 

Notes:

  • These steps don't apply to Prepaid accounts.
  • The steps below apply to Usage Controls subscribers who want to block and unblock numbers.
     For steps on blocking and unblocking numbers, refer to the Blocks FAQs page.
  • Only the Account Owner or an Account Manager with full online access can perform these steps. Refer to Account Roles for additional info.

 

  A recording that states the customer is unavailable is played if a call from a blocked number is received.

  1. Navigate: My Verizon > My Account > Manage Verizon Family Safeguards & Controls.
  2. Click View Details & Edit (located on the right in the Usage Controls section).
  3. Navigate: Controls > Blocked Contacts.
     To delete a block, select a phone number or restriction then click Delete.
  4. Click Add Blocks.
  5. Select the option:
    Option is selected when a check mark is present.
    • Block Restricted, Unavailable and Private Numbers
    • Block Outgoing 411 Directory Assistance Calls
  6. Select Name, enter a name (optional), the contact info and the contact type then click Add.
    Option is selected when a check mark is present.
