LG K20™ V - Change Device Password

Note Notes:

  • If using Microsoft® Exchange / Corporate sync, some screen lock options may be unavailable.
  • These steps can also be utilized to change your current screen lock setting.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Settings Settings icon > Lock screen.
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap Select screen lock.
    Note If presented, enter the current PIN, password, pattern or knock code.
  3. Tap one of the following:

Knock Code

Note Unlock the screen by tapping a pattern.

  1. Tap Knock Code.
  2. From the Set Knock Code screen, tap the squares in the preferred pattern then tap DONE.
    Note Code must be 6 - 8 taps.
  3. From the Confirm knock code screen, tap the squares in the same pattern again then tap CONFIRM.
  4. From the Choose backup PIN screen, enter a numeric PIN (4 to 16 digits) then tap NEXT.
  5. Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap OK.
  6. From the Lock screen notifications screen, select an option then tap OK.
    • Show all notifications
    • Hide sensitive only
    • Hide all notifications
  7. If presented with Secure start-up screen, select option then tap OK.
  8. If presented with Fingerprints option, tap ADD or CANCEL.
  9. If ADD is selected, tap NEXT.
  10. Enter the current knock code then tap OK.
  11. Place your finger on the Power key several times to scan the print.
  12. Tap OK when finished.

Pattern

Note A pattern is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Tap Pattern.
  2. Draw an unlock pattern (connecting at least 4 dots) then tap NEXT.
  3. Re-draw the pattern then tap CONFIRM.
  4. From the Lock screen notifications screen, select an option then tap OK.
    • Show all notifications
    • Hide sensitive only
    • Hide all notifications
  5. If presented with Secure start-up screen, select option then tap OK.
  6. If desired, tap Make pattern visible to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.

PIN

Note A PIN is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Tap PIN.
  2. Enter a numeric PIN (4 to 16 digits) then tap Next.
  3. Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap OK.
  4. From the Lock screen notifications screen, select an option then tap OK.
    • Show all notifications
    • Hide sensitive only
    • Hide all notifications
  5. If presented with Secure start-up screen, select option then tap OK.
  6. If presented with Fingerprints option, tap ADD or CANCEL.
  7. If ADD is selected, tap NEXT.
  8. Enter the current PIN then tap OK.
  9. Place your finger on the Power key several times to scan the print.
  10. Tap OK when finished.

Password

Note A password is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Tap Password.
  2. Enter a password (4 to 16 characters) then tap NEXT.
  3. Re-enter the password then tap OK.
  4. From the Lock screen notifications screen, select an option then tap OK.
    • Show all notifications
    • Hide sensitive only
    • Hide all notifications
  5. If presented with Secure start-up screen, select option then tap OK.
  6. If presented with Fingerprints option, tap ADD or CANCEL.
  7. If ADD was selected, tap NEXT.
  8. Enter the current password then tap OK.
  9. Place your finger on the Power key several times to scan the print.
  10. Tap OK when finished.

Fingerprints

Note A Fingerprint profile is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Tap Fingerprints.
  2. Review instructions, then tap NEXT.
  3. Select one of the alternative screen lock options as a backup method for unlocking the device (e.g., Knock Code, PIN, etc.).
  4. Set up alternative lock option (e.g., PIN, Pattern, etc.).
  5. If presented, from the lock screen options screen, select one the following then tap OK.
    • Show all notifications
    • Hide sensitive only
    • Hide all notifications
  6. Using on-screen prompts as a guide, lightly tap the Power button multiple times to scan your fingerprint.
  7. When finished, tap OK if finished or ADD MORE to continue adding fingerprints.
    Note Up to 5 fingerprints can be stored.
