A virtual private network (VPN) encrypts your internet traffic and protects your online identity via a secured remote server and is most commonly used when remotely accessing company systems (e.g., company email, intranet sites, etc.).
From a Home screen, navigate: Settings > Network & internet.
Tap VPN then tap Basic VPN.
Tap the Add icon + (upper-right).
If presented with a lock screen notification, tap Change.
Refer to Set Up Screen Lock (Pattern, PIN or Password only) for assistance.
From the Name field, enter the appropriate name.
Contact the VPN administrator for assistance with server info and credentials.
From the Type field, tap the Dropdown menu (right) then select the VPN type:
IPSec Xauth PSK
IPSec Xauth RSA
IPSec Hybrid RSA
Enter the Server address.
Select an option:
PPP encryption (MPPE)
Show advanced options
Enter a Username and Password.
If desired, select Always-on VPN.
Select when a check mark is present.
