Sonim XP5 - Enable / Disable / Modify SIM PIN

Note Enabling the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Personal Identification Number (PIN) locks the SIM card so that it cannot be used until the correct code is entered. If the incorrect PIN code is entered too many times, a PIN Unblocking Key (PUK) must be obtained from Verizon Wireless.

  1. From the main screen, press the Apps button Apps button.
  2. Select Settings.
    Note Utilize the 5-way navigation pad to highlight and the center button to select.
  3. Select Security.
  4. Select Set up SIM/RIUM card lock.
  5. Enter the SIM security code.
  6. Select an option.

Enabling/Disabling the SIM PIN - PIN Lock

  1. Select Lock SIM card.
  2. Enter the code.
    Note The defauly code is 1111.
    Unlocked
    Enter the SIM Unlock code then select OK.
    Locked
    Enter the SIM Unlock code then select OK.

Modifying the SIM PIN - Edit PIN Code

  1. Select Change SIM PIN.
  2. Enter the SIM unlock code then select OK.
  3. Enter the new PIN code then select OK.
  4. Re-enter the new PIN code then select OK.
