My Verizon app - Call and Message Blocking

Caution The Call and Message Blocking add-on is not currently available for prepaid accounts.

Note Call and Message Blocking is a free, temporary add-on that lasts up to 90 days. For permanent solutions, check out the following:

  • Verizon Smart Family™: Permanently block calls, texts and other messages for up to 20 numbers.
  • Call Filter: Screen incoming calls, auto-block spam (robocalls) and report any unwanted numbers.

  1. From a Home screen tap the My Verizon app or navigate: Apps > My Verizon.
    Note The My Verizon app is available for Android™ devices running 5.0 or higher and Apple® iOS devices running 11.0 or higher. For all other devices, visit to sign in and manage your account.
    Note Ensure your app is up to date as the following steps apply to the most recent version.
  2. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-left) then tap Devices (may require scrolling down).
    Note Available settings vary based on user type (e.g., Account Owner, Manager, Member).
  3. Tap Manage (below the number you want to update).
  4. From the 'Your device details' screen, tap Controls (upper-left).
    Note The Controls tab is selected when underlined in red.
  5. Tap Call and message blocking.
  6. From the 'Block calls... up to 5 numbers' page, enter a phone number then tap Block number (at the bottom).
    Note To remove a blocked number, tap the X (to the right of the number).
    Note To add more numbers, tap Add a number (at the bottom) then repeat step 6.
  7. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-left) to return to the main menu.
    Note Changes to blocks may take up to 15 minutes to update on your account.
