If the passcode is forgotten, the device needs to be restored to default settings using iTunes. Refer to this iTunes support page for instructions.
- From the lock screen, swipe right then enter the passcode if prompted.
- Tap Settings
then tap General.
- Tap Auto-Lock then select the auto-lock time interval (e.g., 1 Minute, 2 Minutes, 5 minutes, etc.).
Selected when a check mark is present.
- Tap
General.
Located in the upper-left.
- Tap Passcode Lock then tap Turn Passcode On.
If passcode is turned on, enter the passcode then skip to step 8.
- Enter then re-enter the passcode.
- If preferred, tap Change Passcode then:
- Enter the old passcode then enter and confirm new passcode.
- Tap Done.
- If preferred, tap Require Passcode then select the desired time interval (e.g., Immediately, etc.).
Selected when a check mark is present.
- If desired, tap any of the following switch(es) to turn on
or off
:
When turned on, access is allowed when the screen is locked.
- Passbook
- Reply with Message
- Erase Data
When turned on, all data on device is erased after 10 failed passcode attempts.
