Transfer Content with the Move to iOS App - Android™ to Apple® iPhone®

What you need:

  • Your old and new phones
  • Wi-Fi enabled on both phones
  • Your Google account info

 

Note Notes:

  • In order to transfer content, both devices must be in working order.
    Note If your old device is inaccessible, sign in to your account (e.g., email, Facebook®, Verizon Cloud, etc.) on your new device to see what's available.
  • Ensure both devices are powered on and connected to a power source.
  • To use the Move to iOS app you must have:
    • an Android device running Android version 4.0 or later.
      Note Devices running Android 9.x are not currently compatible with Move to iOS.
    • an iPhone 5 or later model running iOS version 9 or later.

Install the Move to iOS app

  1. On your Android device, install the Move to iOS app from the Play Store.
  2. Tap ACCEPT to approve permissions.
  3. Once the app is installed, tap OPEN.

Start the setup process

  1. During the initial device setup process on your new iPhone, navigate to the Apps & Data screen.
    Note The 'Apps & Data' screen is only available during the iPhone initial setup process.
  2. From the 'Apps & Data' screen, tap Move Data from Android.
    Note Make sure there is sufficient space on your new iPhone to accommodate the content you're moving from your Android device (including what may be on the external Micro SD card, if applicable).
  3. Tap Continue.

View the security code

Take note of the code that appears on your iPhone. This is used to connect the two devices so data can be transferred.

Continue with setup

On your Android device:

  1. Tap Continue.
  2. Review the Terms and Conditions then tap Agree (lower-right).
  3. Tap Next (upper-right).

Enter the code

Enter the code from the iPhone on your Android device.

Select the content to be transferred

On the Android device, from the 'Transfer Data' screen select the content to transfer then tap Next.
Note This process may take a long time depending on how much data is being transferred. Leave both devices untouched until the iPhone shows it's finished.

You're all done

After the loading bar finishes on the iPhone:

  1. On the Android device, tap Done.
  2. On the iPhone, tap Continue Setting Up iPhone to finish the set up process.
