moto z2 force edition - Activate / Set Up Device

Caution To avoid potential issues, review the following:

  • Accounts (e.g., Gmail, email, etc.) should be set up after activating the device (see Related Topics).
  • To activate the device on prepaid service, refer to Set up Verizon Prepaid Service.
  • Wi-Fi Calling settings don't transfer after switching devices and/or performing a factory data reset. You need to enable Wi-Fi Calling manually if you want to use it.

  1. If powered off, press and hold the Power button until the moto logo appears then release.
    Note If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off and allow several minutes for the deactivation of the old phone to complete.

  2. Select the appropriate language then tap Start.

  3. If presented with the 'Phone Activation' screen, tap Next.
    Note Allow several seconds for activation to complete.
    Note If prompted, enter the last 4 digits of the account owner's social security number or the billing password.

  4. From the 'Connect to Wi-Fi' screen, select a network then enter the password.
    Note If you choose 'SKIP', you can add a Wi-Fi network after setup is complete.

  5. From the 'Copy apps & data' screen tap Next, then follow the on-screen prompts to choose a transfer method.
    Note Data can also be transferred at a later time if you choose Don't copy.

  6. Sign in to your existing Google™ account or create a new one.
    Note If you choose 'Skip', you can add your Google account after setup is complete.

  7. From the 'Google services' screen tap More, then tap Accept after reviewing all info. Tap any of the optional services to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
    Note By tapping Accept, you are also agreeing to the Google Terms of Service.

  8. From the 'Unlock with your fingerprint' screen, tap Set Up.
    Note If you choose 'SKIP', you can set up Fingerprint Recognition after setup is complete.

  9. From the 'Google Assistant' screen, tap Continue then follow the steps to set up Voice Match or you may choose to set it up later by tapping No, thanks.

  10. From the 'Security and Privacy' screen, review the Terms and conditions then tap Accept, or tap Skip.

  11. Review the Moto Privacy settings then tap Accept and continue.
    Note To review the Moto Privacy Policy:
    1. Tap Privacy settings
    2. Tap View Motorola Privacy Policy (located at the bottom)
    3. When finished, tap DONE.
    4. Tap the left arrow icon < (lower-left).

  12. Tap Got it to exit the device set up.
