Text Message Notification Settings - Samsung Galaxy Note8

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    Note These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
  2. Tap Messages Messages icon.
  3. If prompted to change the default SMS app, tap YES to confirm.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Menu (upper-right).
  5. Tap Settings.
  6. Tap Notifications.
  7. Tap the Messages switch to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
    Note When on, configure the following:
    1. Tap App icon badges to turn on or off.
      Note When on, a small dot appears on the app icon indicating there's a notification you may have missed.
    2. From the Categories section, select any of the following:
      • Emergency Alerts
      • General notifications
      • New messages
    3. Select any of the following to configure:
      Note The available options may vary.
      • Importance
        Note Tap then select the desired option (e.g., Urgent, High, Medium, Low).
      • Sound
        Note Tap then select the desired option (e.g., Default, Silent, etc.).
      • Vibrate
        Note Tap to turn on or off.
      • App icon badges
        Note Tap to turn on or off.
      • On lock screen
        Note Tap then select the desired option (e.g., Show content, Hide, Do not show).
      • Do not disturb custom exception
        Note Tap to turn on or off.
