Google Pixel 2 - Enable / Disable App

Some apps that come pre-installed (e.g., calculator, Google Play™ Store, Verizon Cloud, Call Filter, etc.) on your Android™ device can't be uninstalled; however, they can be disabled (turned off) so they don't appear in the list of apps on your device.

Note The option to enable or disable an app may only be available for apps that can't be uninstalled.

Enable App

  1. From a Home screen, touch and swipe up to display all apps.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings app icon > Apps & notifications Apps and notifications icon.
  3. Tap Right arrow icon See all 'xx' apps.
  4. Tap All apps Down arrow icon (at the top) then tap Disabled apps.
  5. Tap the appropriate app then tap Enable.

Disable App

Caution Disabling an app may cause related apps to function improperly.

  1. From a Home screen, touch and swipe up to display all apps.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings app icon > Apps & notifications Apps and notifications icon.
  3. Tap Right arrow icon See all 'xx' apps.
  4. Tap an app.
  5. Tap Disable then tap Disable App.
  6. If the Disable option isn't available, tap Force stop.
  7. Tap OK.
