My Verizon app - Transfer Your Service

Note Notes:

  • Ensure your app is up to date as the following steps apply to the most recent version.
  • The My Verizon app is only available for Android™ devices running 4.0 or higher and Apple® iOS devices running 10.0 or higher. For all other devices, visit to sign in and manage your account.
  • Available settings vary based on user type (e.g., Account Owner, Account Manager, Account Member).


  1. From the Home screen tap the My Verizon app or navigate: Apps > My Verizon.
  2. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-left) then tap Account.
  3. Tap Account Settings.
  4. Tap the Controls tab (upper-right).
  5. Tap Transfer your account service.
    Note If prompted, follow the onscreen options to pay your bill as it must be paid in full before transferring your service.
  6. From the 'Transfer line ownership in a few easy steps' screen, tap Get started (at the bottom).
  7. From the 'Pick a Line to Transfer' screen, select the line to be transferred.
  8. To continue, from the 'Customer Agreement' screen, review and accept the terms then click Continue (at the bottom).
  9. From the 'Pick a New Line Owner' screen, select one of the following:
    • Someone else
    • A small business
  10. From the 'New Account Information' screen, enter the applicable info into the following fields then tap Continue:
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Business name
      Note Required when transferring line of service to a business.
    • Email
  11. From the 'Review Transfer Request' screen, make sure everything is correct then tap Submit (at the bottom).
    Note Tap Edit to make any necessary changes.
  12. Tap Got it (at the bottom) to complete the transfer.
    Note An email with instructions on how to approve and complete the transfer is sent to you and the person assuming liability for your wireless number.
