Liquid Evidence

Caution Apple Watch Series 3 has a water resistance rating of 50 meters under ISO standard 22810:2010. This means that it may be used for shallow-water activities like swimming in a pool or ocean. However, Apple Watch Series 3 should not be used for scuba diving, waterskiing, or other activities involving high-velocity water or submersion below shallow depth.

To identify if your device has water damage, check for:

  • Moisture under the display screen.
  • Moisture under the heart rate monitor (on back of the watch).

Note  If damage is found several replacement options may be available.

Display or Digital Crown Issues 

Examples of screen damage / button issues include but are not limited to:

  • Cracks
  • Excessive scratches
  • Separation (e.g., lens or housing separating from device frame). 
  • Missing physical buttons (e.g., home or digital crown)
  • Warping
    Note Watch won't lay flat.
  • Lines
    Note Solid line(s) present across the screen.
  • Pixel Deformities
    Note Caused by physical impact to screen or device.
  • Punctures

Hardware Modifications
 

Notes:

  • A hardware modification is any physical change made to the device not performed by the manufacturer or an authorized agent of the manufacturer.
  • Most alterations of this type are cosmetic but involve opening the device case in a way that voids the manufacturer's original warranty and is considered physical damage.
  • Hardware modifications include, but are not limited to:
    • bezels or cases that involve opening the case and removing the original housing.
    • non-removable back case detached.
    • device screens replaced.
    • aftermarket decorations affixed permanently to the device.

Note If modifications have been made that void the warranty, several replacement options may be available.

  • Even when purchased from Verizon, all Apple Watch Series 3 service requests and repairs are handled directly through Apple during the original one (1) year manufacturer's warranty.
  • Based on model, the Apple Watch Series 3 comes with complimentary support and includes a limited warranty covering qualifying repairs. For more info on specific coverage, visit this AppleCare+ support page.
  • If you require require service or repairs after the one (1) year manufacturer's warranty, refer to one of the following:

 

  1. To request service from Apple for your Series 3 Watch during the one (1) year warranty period, call Apple at 800-275-2273.
  2. When prompted for product type, say "Apple Watch" then follow the outlined steps.
