Set Up Face Recognition - Samsung Galaxy S® 4

Note Notes:

  • Facial recognition through Trusted Face:
    • is an option for keeping the device screen from locking when looking at it.
    • can be used to unlock the device when it is locked and powered on.
    • is less secure than a PIN, pattern or password.
  • A screen lock must be active (e.g., PIN, pattern, etc.) to use Trusted Face. If necessary, refer to Set Up Screen Lock for assistance.
  • If synced to a corporate exchange account, the availability of this option is dependent upon the policies of your IT admin.

 

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps > Settings.
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap Security.
    Note If unavailable, tap the Menu icon Menu (located at the bottom-left) then tap Switch to list view.
  3. Tap Smart Lock.
  4. Enter the current unlock method (e.g., PIN, pattern, etc.).
  5. Tap Trusted face.
  6. Tap SET UP.
  7. Review the instructions then tap NEXT.
  8. If presented with "Trusted Face permissions" screen, tap ALLOW.
  9. Place your face within the circle until the process is complete.
  10. Tap DONE.
