Apple® iPhone® - Manually Select Roaming Carrier While Traveling Internationally

Note Notes:

  • If you're currently traveling internationally and your iPhone displays 'No Service,' you can manually select a carrier. For more info on international carriers, visit this support page.
  • The steps below apply to the following models:
    • iPhone X / XS / XS Max / XR
    • iPhone 8 / 8 Plus
    • iPhone 7 / 7 Plus
    • iPhone SE
    • iPhone 6 / 6 Plus / 6s / 6s Plus
    • iPhone 5 / 5c / 5s
    • iPhone 4s

 

  1. From a Home screen, navigate Settings Settings icon > Cellular.
  2. Tap 'Cellular Network' or 'Network Selection'.
    Note Steps may vary depending on iOS version, device model and your location.
  3. Tap the Automatic switch to turn off Switch off icon.
  4. Once available networks appear, tap the desired carrier (e.g., Verizon, Vodafone, etc.).
    Note Allow up to 2 minutes for carrier listing.
  5. Look for signal bars Signal bars icon or a carrier name on the display to indicate that you have connected to the network.
