LG G7 ThinQ™ - Activate / Set Up Device

If you need to transfer contacts and media from one device to another, follow these step-by-step instructions before activating the new device.

Caution To avoid potential issues, review the following:


  1. If powered off, press and hold the Power button (right-edge) until the LG logo appears then release.
  2. Select the appropriate Language then tap NEXT.

  3. After the phone is activated, tap NEXT.
    Note If prompted, enter the account PIN then follow the onscreen prompts (see Account PIN FAQs for additional info).
    Note If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off.

  4. From the 'Set up Wi-Fi' screen, select a network then enter the password.
    Note If you choose 'SKIP', you can add Wi-Fi networks after setup is complete.

  5. From the 'Bring your data from...' screen tap an option:
    • A backup from an Android phone (follow the prompts).
    • A backup from the cloud.
    • An iPhone device.
    • 'Don't copy' to set up as new.

  6. Sign in to your existing Google™ account or create a new one, then tap Next.
    Note If you choose 'Skip', you can add your Google account after setup is complete.

  7. Enter the password then tap Next.

  8. Read the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy then tap I agree to continue.

  9. Turn on any of the following then tap ACCEPT:
    Note On when the service is turned on On Switch.
    • Back up to Google Drive
    • Use location
    • Allow scanning
    • Send usage and diagnostic data
    • Install updates & apps

  10. From the 'Secure your phone' screen, tap an option then tap NEXT
    Note If you choose 'No, thanks', you can add a screen lock or set up face or fingerprint recognition after setup is complete.

  11. From the 'Your Google Assistant is built into your new phone' screen read through and tap Continue twice.

  12. From the 'Security & Privacy' screen, tap ACCEPT.

  13. From the 'Ready to go!' summary screen, tap GOT IT!.
