Samsung Galaxy J3 V / Galaxy J3 (3rd Gen.) - Set Default Messaging App

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    Note These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Apps.
  3. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right) then tap Default apps.
  4. Tap Messaging app then select one of the following:
    Note Setting an SMS app as default disables other messaging apps and their features.
    Note Available options depend on the apps that are installed.
    • Message+
    • Messages
    • Hangouts

 

Note If you've upgraded or switched devices and your old messages aren't appearing, you may be able to restore them via one of the following methods:
