Samsung Galaxy J7 V / J7 (2nd Gen.) - Manage Data Usage

To change the data usage cycle on your device, view data usage and set data warnings and limits, view this info.

Caution Notes:

  • Data usage info provided by the device may differ from actual usage. For data usage info provided by Verizon Wireless, call #DATA (#3282) from the device or refer to the My Verizon website.

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up then navigate: Settings Settings icon > Connections > Data usage.
  2. Tap Mobile data usage.
  3. Tap the Settings icon Settings icon then do any of the following:
    • Change Data Usage Cycle:
      1. Tap Start billing cycle on.
      2. Set the date to match the first day of your billing cycle then tap Set.
        Note Refer to the My Verizon website for billing cycle date.
    • Set Mobile Data Limit:
      Caution Mobile data (cellular data) is disabled upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the red limit line. To continue to utilize apps dependant upon a data connection (e.g., Browser, Email, Market, etc.), a Wi-Fi connection can be used or Mobile data must be manually re-enabled (overage charges may apply).
      1. Tap the Limit mobile data usage switch to turn on On switch icon.
        Note If prompted, review the notification then tap OK to confirm.
      2. Tap Data limit.
      3. Enter the desired limit (e.g., 5GB) then tap Set.
    • Set Mobile Data Warning:
      Note A notification message appears upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the grey warning line.
      1. Tap Set data warning to turn on.
      2. Tap Data warning.
      3. Enter the desired warning threshold then tap Set.
