Samsung Galaxy J7 V / J7 (2nd Gen.) - Power Up in Safe Mode

Safe Mode puts your phone in a diagnostic state (returned to default settings) so you can determine if a third-party app is causing your device to freeze, reset or run slow.

Note Notes:

  • It is recommended you read these instructions in their entirety before beginning.
  • An alternate method is available if the device can be powered on and is responsive.

  1. With the device powered off, press and hold the Power button (located on the right edge) until a vibration is felt (approximately 3 seconds) then release.
  2. Press and hold the Volume down button (located on the left edge).
Note If the button is pressed prior to the device vibrating, it won't boot into safe mode.
  3. Continue to hold the Volume down button until 'Safe mode' appears in the lower-left of the unlock or Home screen then release.
Note This may take up to 30 seconds.
