Samsung Galaxy J7 V / J7 (2nd Gen.) - Set Default Messaging App

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up then navigate: Settings Settings icon > Apps Settings Apps icon.
  2. Tap the Menu icon Contacts icon (upper-right) then tap Default apps.
  3. Tap Messaging app then select one the following:
    Note Setting an SMS app as default disables other messaging apps and their features.
    Note Available options depend on the apps that are installed.
    • Hangouts
    • Messaging
    • Message+

Note If you've upgraded or switched devices and your old messages aren't appearing, you may be able to restore them via one of the following methods:
