Samsung Galaxy Note9 - Reset App

If your device crashes, resets itself or freezes, it may be caused by apps and this info may help.

Note Personal data such as browser bookmarks and other customized app settings can be backed up to Google's servers.

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    Note These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Apps.
  3. Ensure 'All' is selected (upper-left).
    Note If necessary, tap the Dropdown icon Dropdown icon (upper-left) then select All.
  4. Locate then select the appropriate app.
    Note If system apps aren't visible, tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right) > Show system apps.
  5. Tap Force stop.
  6. To confirm, tap Force stop.
  7. Tap Storage.
  8. Do one of the following:
    Note These options may vary depending on the app, and may not be available for some apps.
    Note Resetting an app doesn't remove saved items on the device (texts, pictures, voicemails, etc.); however, saved passwords for Wi-Fi, settings, backgrounds, etc. within the app itself may be reset.
    • Tap Clear data, review the info then tap OK to confirm.
    • Tap Manage storage > CLEAR ALL DATA, then tap OK to confirm.
