Samsung Galaxy Note9 - Set Up Fingerprint Recognition
A fingerprint is utilized to unlock the device.
For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and free of moisture, dirt, oil, lotion, dyes, etc.
Up to 4 fingerprints can be registered on the device.
From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
Navigate: Settings > Biometrics and security.
From the Biometrics section, tap Fingerprints.
If presented, enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.
If presented, tap Continue, select a screen lock option (e.g., Pattern, PIN, Password) then follow the steps to complete the process.
If necessary, refer to Set Up Screen Lock for assistance.
Swipe your fingertip down over the fingerprint sensor (back of device).
View the on-screen tutorial for assistance.
Repeat this step as necessary until the process is complete.
For greater accuracy, finger placement should vary slightly each time.
Tap Done (lower-right).
Follow the on-screen prompt to test your fingerprint.
