Samsung Galaxy Note9 - RTT Settings

Note Notes:

  • Real-time text (RTT) is text transmitted instantly as it is typed or created. Recipients can immediately read the message while it is being written, without waiting.
  • When RTT is enabled on both devices, no audio is heard on the call.
  • If you aren't hearing audio on a call, make sure RTT is turned off.
  • No additional device needed.

Enable RTT

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    Note These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Accessibility > Hearing
  3. Tap Real Time Text.
  4. Tap Always visible to enable the RTT keyboard.

Make a Call with RTT

  1. With RTT enabled, from a Home screen, tap Phone Phone icon.
    Note If not available, swipe up or down from the center of the display then tap Phone Phone icon.
  2. From the 'CONTACTS' section, do one of the following:
    • Enter a 10-digit number then tap the RTT call icon RTT call icon (at the bottom).
      Note If necessary, tap the Dialpad icon Dialpad icon (lower-right).
    • Select a contact then tap RTT call.
