Remove SIM Card - Samsung Galaxy Tab A (8.0)

Removing and reinserting your SIM can help with activation issues/errors, browser connection problems, or a blank/frozen screen.

Caution Caution:

  • Don't attempt to remove the SIM card while the device is powered on. Doing so may harm the SIM card and/or the device.
  • Don't modify or alter your SIM card. Refer to these additional 4G SIM card do's and don'ts.

 

  1. Ensure the device is powered off.
  2. From the left edge of the device (display facing up), remove the card tray.
    Note Utilize the insertion/removal tool (or a paperclip) to unlock the tray by inserting it into the provided slot (figure 1) then remove the tray (figure 2).

  3. Remove the SIM card from the tray.
    Note From the bottom of the card, carefully lift to remove. To assist, use the opening on the opposite side of the tray to dislodge (using a fingernail or similar tool).
    Note If applicable, refer to Insert SIM Card.

  4. Insert the card tray.
    Note Press in on the tray to lock it into place.
