Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 - Set Up Screen Lock

Note Notes:

  • If using Microsoft® Exchange / Corporate sync, some screen lock options may be unavailable.
  • These steps can also be utilized to change your current screen lock setting.
  • A pattern, PIN or password must be set up to turn on factory reset protection.
    Note Changing screen lock to 'None' or 'Swipe' turns off this feature.

 

 

Pattern

Note An unlock pattern is created to access the device.

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down to access all apps.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Lock screen Lock screen icon Screen lock type.
    Note If presented, enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.
  3. Tap Pattern.
  4. Draw an unlock pattern (connecting at least 4 dots) then tap Contine.
  5. Draw the same pattern again then tap Confirm.

PIN

Note A PIN is created to access the device.

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down to access all apps.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Lock screen Lock screen icon Screen lock type.
    Note If presented, enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.
  3. Tap PIN.
  4. Enter a numeric PIN (4 to 16 digits) then tap Continue.
  5. Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap OK.

Password

Note A password is created to access the device.

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down to access all apps..
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Lock screen Lock screen icon Screen lock type.
    Note If presented, enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.
  3. Tap Password.
  4. Enter a password (4 to 16 characters, including at least one letter) then tap Continue.
  5. Re-enter the password then tap OK.
