moto z3 - Activate / Set Up Device

If you need to transfer contacts and media from one device to another, follow these step-by-step instructions before activating the new device.

Caution To avoid potential issues, review the following:

  1. If powered off, press and hold the Power button until the moto logo appears then release.
  2. Select the appropriate language then tap START.

  3. If presented with the 'Phone Activation' screen, tap NEXT.
    Note If prompted, enter the account PIN then follow the onscreen prompts (see Account PIN FAQs for additional info).
    Note If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off.
  4. If you'd like to restore your info from an old device, tap 'Copy your data'. If you'd like a fresh start, tap 'Set up as new'.

  5. From the 'Set up Wi-Fi' screen, select a network then enter the password.
    Note If you choose 'Skip', you can add a Wi-Fi network after setup is complete.

  6. Sign in to your existing Google™ account or create a new one.
    Note If you choose 'Skip', you can add your Google account after setup is complete.

  7. From the 'Unlock with your fingerprint' screen, tap Set Up then follow the steps.

  8. From the 'Google services' screen, select any of the following to turn on Switch on or off Switch on then tap I AGREE (may require scrolling to the bottom).

  9. From the 'Verizon Cloud' screen, tap Next.
    Note If you choose 'Skip', you can set up Verizon Cloud after setup is complete.

  10. From the 'Email Accounts' screen, select an email account type then enter your sign-in info.

  11. From the 'Security & Privacy' screen, tap Accept.

  12. From the 'Ready to go!' screen, tap Got it to complete setup.
