Verizon 5G Home Router 1A - Turn SSID Broadcast On / Off

Verizon 5G Home service is currently offered in specific areas; click here to check for 5G coverage availability.

Note Notes:

  • Every wireless access point (e.g., router, hotspot) has a network name or SSID (Service Set Identifier) assigned to it.
  • SSID is typically broadcast by default, but can be turned off for greater security.
  • When turned off, any device attempting to connect for the first time must know the SSID name and password to set up a manual connection to it.
Note For the easiest connection experience, it's recommended to leave broadcast on.

  1. Sign in to the Admin WebGUI.
  2. From the Wi-Fi panel, click the Arrow icon Right arrow icon.
    Router Home screen
  3. From Wi-Fi, click the Primary Network tab.
  4. From Options, locate the Broadcast primary network name (SSID).
Note Broadcast is enabled when a check mark Check box icon is present.
Caution If the SSID is changed, the network settings on any connected device must be updated. If needed, select the appropriate operating system for help: 5G Home Wi-Fi settings with emphasis on Primary Netwrok settings
  5. Click Save changes (at the bottom).
