If powered off, press and hold the Power button (located on the right edge of the device) until the device vibrates, then release and wait for the 'Welcome' screen to appear.
Select the appropriate language then tap GO.
To continue, select the appropriate options then tap Agree.
From the 'Device Activation' screen, tap NEXT.
If prompted, enter the account PIN then follow the onscreen prompts (see Account PIN FAQs for additional info).
If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off.
From the 'Wi-FI' screen, setup Wi-Fi or choose SKIP.
If you choose 'Skip', you can add a Wi-Fi network after setup is complete.
If you'd like to restore your info from an old device, tap 'Copy your data'. If you'd like a fresh start, tap 'Set up as new'.
