Apple Watch® - Dual SIM with an eSIM - Switch Between Plans

Caution Caution:

  • Only 1 Verizon mobile number can be activated on an Apple Watch at a time.
  • You can have 1 Verizon mobile number and 1 from another carrier activated; however, they can't be used simultaneously.
    Note For instructions on switching between mobile numbers, refer to Switch Between Plans.


Note Notes:

  • The steps below apply to the following models:
    • Apple Watch Series 4
    • Apple Watch Series 3
  • Before completing the steps below, ensure:
    • Your watch is set up with one of the following iPhones running iOS 12.1 or later:
      • iPhone XS / XS Max
      • iPhone XR
    • You have a cellular plan set up on both your physical SIM and eSIM.
      Note For info on adding a cellular plan to your eSIM, refer to Add Cellular Plan.
    • You have added multiple cellular plans to your Apple Watch.


  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Watch Watch app icon > My Watch (lower-left).
  2. Tap Cellular.
  3. Tap the plan you want to use (e.g., Primary, Secondary, (555) 555-5555, etc.).
    Note To switch plans directly from your watch, navigate: Settings > Cellular then choose the plan you want to use.
