LG V30® - Manage RTT Settings

Note Notes:

  • Real-time text (RTT) is text transmitted instantly as it is typed or created. Recipients can immediately read the message while it is being written, without waiting.
  • When RTT is enabled on both devices, no audio is heard on the call.
  • If you aren't hearing audio on a call, make sure RTT is turned off.
  • No additional device needed.

Enable RTT

  1. From a Home screen, tap the Phone icon Phone icon (lower-left).
    Note If unavailable, scroll to display all apps then tap Phone Phone icon.
  2. Navigate: Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right) > Call settings > Additional settings.
  3. Tap Real Time Text (RTT) keyboard to turn on On switch icon.
    Note You won't be able to make video calls or merge calls while RTT is on.
  4. Tap the Back icon Back icon (upper-left) several times to return to the calling screen.

Make a Call with RTT

  1. From a Home screen, tap the Phone icon Phone icon.
    Note If unavailable, scroll to display all apps.
    Note When enabled, the RTT phone icon appears in the lower-left of the 'Dial' screen.
    Note If prompted, tap Yes, show RTT keyboard.

  2. Once the call connects and the RTT keyboard displays, start typing your message.

Switch a Call to RTT

If RTT is turned off, while on a call, tap Menu icon Menu icon > Show RTT Keyboard.
Note If prompted, from the 'Cannot change to video call' window, tap OK.
Tap Menu then tap Show RTT Keyboard

End an RTT Call

While on a call, tap the End icon (at the top) to end the call.
