Advanced Messaging - Samsung - Send an Audio Message

Notes Notes:

  • Advanced Messaging (RCS) requires the most recent software version to access new features and capabilities.
  • Advanced Messaging is only available with other devices of the same make and model (Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9+) on the Verizon Network. There is no cross carrier capability at this time.
  • The device must be in a Verizon wireless coverage area to send or receive chat messages.

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    Note These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
  2. Tap Messages Messages icon.
  3. From the 'Messages' screen, tap the preferred conversation or start a new one by tapping the New message icon New message icon (lower-right).
    Note If starting a new chat conversation:
    1. Enter a 10-digit mobile number or a contact name in the 'Recipient' field.
      Note Alternatively, tap the Contact icon Contact icon (upper-right) to select one or more recipients from your contacts list.
      Note Chat enabled contacts are identified by a blue dot (lower-right) on their Caller ID image. Once selected, the names of chat enabled participants appear in blue.
    2. Tap Done.
  4. Touch and hold the Voice Record icon Record voice message icon (right of he message field) to record the audio message.
  5. To preview the audio message, tap the Play icon Play icon.
  6. Tap the Send icon Send icon.
