Samsung Galaxy S10 - Set Lock Screen Notifications

Lock screen notifications for apps (e.g., text messages, Snapchat®, etc.) can be customized to be shown or hidden when your screen is locked.

Note If a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync® account is set up on the device, notifications are off by default.

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    Note These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Lock screen.
  3. Tap Notifications.
  4. Tap the Notifications switch (upper-right) to turn on Switch on.
  5. Tap View style and select one of the following options:
    Note If View style is not available, a Screen Lock must be added.
    Lock Screen Notifications
    • Detailed
    • Icons only
    • Brief
  6. Tap the 'Show on Always On Display' switch to turn on or off.
    Note When the Always On Display setting is set to 'On' and 'Show Always', notification icons display even when your screen is inactive.
    Always On Display
    Note To turn on Always On Display:
    1. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Lock screen.
    2. Tap Always On Display.
    3. Tap the Always On Display switch to turn on.
      Note If turned off, notification icons don't appear until the display is active.
    4. Tap Display mode then tap Show always.
      Note Selected when a blue dot is present.
  7. When a notification is received, double tap the screen or press any button (e.g., power, etc) to view your notifications.
