LG G8 ThinQ™ - Auto Switch Between Wi-Fi & Mobile Data Networks

To automatically switch from a weak or unstable Wi-Fi network to the Verizon Wireless cellular network to preserve a consistent data connection, view this info.

Note Notes:

  • When enabled, this advanced setting allows the device to switch from a weak or unstable Wi-Fi network to the Verizon Wireless cellular network to preserve consistent data throughput.
  • This function is not enabled by default; the device prompts the user to enable the feature the first time they experience poor Wi-Fi connectivity Weak Wi-Fi icon.

 

Caution When connected to the Verizon Wireless cellular network, data overage charges may apply (depending upon data plan). For data usage info, refer to the My Verizon website.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Settings Settings icon > Network & internet Network and internet > Wi-Fi.
    Note These instructions apply to Home mode only.
    Note If presented with a Wi-Fi tutorial screen, tap Close.
  2. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right) then tap Advanced Wi-Fi.
  3. Tap the Avoid bad Wi-Fi connections switch to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
