Samsung Galaxy S10 5G - Set Up Face Recognition

Notes:

• Facial recognition is utilized to unlock the device.
• For optimal performance, ensure you are indoors or away from direct sunlight.
• If synced to a corporate exchange account, the availability of this option is dependant upon the policies of your IT admin.

1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
   These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
2. Navigate: Settings > Biometrics and security.
3. Tap Face Recognition.
   If presented, enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.
4. Perform one of the following:
   • For first time setup:
     1. If presented, select a lock screen option (e.g., Pattern, PIN or Password) then follow the steps to complete the process.
        If necessary, refer to Set Up Screen Lock for assistance.
     2. From the 'Are you wearing glasses right now' screen, select 'yes' or 'no' then tap Continue.
     3. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle displayed on-screen.
     4. From the Useful features menu, tap the switch to turn each option on or off then tap OK (bottom).
        • Stay on Lock screen
          Once unlocked, remain on the lock screen until you swipe.
        • Faster recognition
          When off, greater security is provided making it harder to unlock your phone using an image or video.
        • Lift to wake
          Wake your phone by picking it up. Face recognition will be ready as soon as you pick up your phone.
        • Brighten screen
          Temporarily increases screen brightness to improve facial recognition in the dark.
     5. Tap the Face unlock switch to turn facial recognition on or off .
   • To remove face data:
     1. From the Face recognition menu, tap Remove face data.
     2. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap Remove.
