Google Pixel 3a - Manage Do Not Disturb Settings

Note Notes:

  • The 'Do not disturb' feature allows sound / vibration notifications (for phone calls, messages, etc.) to be turned on or off as preferred.
  • Alarms are considered priority notifications.

Set Priorities

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Sound Sound icon.
  3. Tap Do not disturb.
  4. Tap See all exceptions.
  5. Tap either of the following then select an option (e.g., From anyone, From contacts only, etc):
    • Allow calls > Allow calls
    • Allow messages > Allow messages
  6. Tap the Back icon Back icon (top-left).
  7. Tap any of the following switches to turn on On icon or off Off icon:
    • Allow alarms
    • Play media sounds
    • Allow touch sounds
    • Allow reminders
    • Allow events
  8. Tap the Back icon Back icon (top-left) then tap Schedules.
  9. Tap to choose any of the following to turn on checkmark icon (on when the box is checked):
    • Sleeping
    • Event
    • Add more
  10. Tap the Gear Icon blue gear icon to the right to configure as desired (e.g., Rule name, Start time, etc.):
  11. Tap the Back icon then tap Turn on now.




Change Do Not Disturb Setting

  1. Swipe down twice from the top of a Home screen.
  2. Tap Do Not Disturb to turn on or off.
  3. Tap and hold Do Not Disturb to get Schedule setting.
  4. Tap Default duration then select one of the following:
    • Until you turn off
    • For one hour
      Note Increase or decrease this time frame using the Add icon or Subtract icon icons (to the right).
    • Ask every time
  5. Tap OK (lower-right).
