Battery Basics

  • This device has a 4000 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery.
  • Battery life depends on the network, signal strength, temperature, features and accessories used.
  • It's common for batteries to be warm from use or charging.
  • This device has a Type-C charging port which allows for more data throughput and can support technologies such as Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0.
  • QuickCharge 3.0 which can give up to 50% charge in 30 minutes (charging slows after 50% to prevent stress to the battery).

Charging Port

  • USB Type-C cables are reversible, meaning that there is no way to plug the cable into the port upside down.
  • MicroUSB cables cannot be used, and may damage the port if used.
  • The use of Type-C adapters is not recommended.

Overheating Concerns

  • Some heat is anticipated and perfectly normal, though the phone should not become too warm to handle comfortably.
  • The LG V50 ThinQ 5G supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, and therefore is likely to get warm during charging. This is expected, especially if the device is being operated while it is charging. If the device gets warm during normal use, please see the tips above or turn on Optimized charging.

If Device Won't Power On

  • Use the provided LG wall charger and wait at least 1-2 minutes to allow the device to charge.
  • If the device does not seem to charge with the provided AC charger, connect the provided USB cable to a different AC charger (if available). If the device charges under this configuration, the provided AC charger needs to be replaced.
  • If the device still does not power up, ensure the device is still connected to the wall charger and press and hold the Power, Volume Up and Volume Down buttons simultaneously for 1-2 full minutes.
