Verizon Smart Locator - Activate / Set Up Device

Note Prior to setting up the Verizon Smart Locator, the Verizon Smart Locator Hub app must be downloaded onto the device.

  • For Apple® iPhone® users, download the app from the App Store®.
  • For Android® users, download the app from the Google Play™ Store.


  1. Fully charge your Smart Locator then from the Smart Locator press the button to turn on.

  2. From your device, tap the Verizon Smart Locator Hub Verizon Smart Locator .
  3. Tap Scan QR Code then scan the QR code located on the back of the Smart Locator or from the packaging.
    Note If unable to scan the QR code, enter the IMEI number that is printed on the back of the Smart Locator.
  4. From the 'Activate your device...' screen, select an option to continue:
    • First-time users, click New Customer.
    • For existing users, tap Existing Customer then enter the My Verizon credentials and tap Sign in.
  5. To continue, follow the on-screen prompts to review and select the Smart Locator plan.
  6. When prompted, hold the button on the Smart Locator for 3 seconds to restart the device.
    Note The device beeps and a light turns on.

  7. Wait for the amber light to start to blink, indicating that the device is active on the Verizon network and ready to finish pairing.
    Note This can take up to five minutes to complete.
  8. From the Smart Locator Hub, tap Finish Pairing.
  9. The Smart Locator will pair itself to your phone and the Smart Locator account.
    Note This can take up to 2 minutes to complete.
  10. From the Verizon Smart Locator Hub, tap Continue Setup.
