Samsung Galaxy S10 5G - Set Up SOS Messages

Note Notes:

  • In any emergency situation, you can send a message to an emergency contact by quickly pressing the power key 3 times.
  • A notice of your approximate location is sent to the mobile phone of a chosen contact.
  • Up to 4 emergency contacts can be registered on the device.


  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    Note These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Advanced features > Send SOS messages.
  3. Tap the OFF switch Switch off icon (upper-right) to turn ON Switch on icon.
  4. Tap OK.
  5. To continue, review the Terms and conditions then select (check) the agreement option and tap Agree.
  6. From the 'Create emergency contact' message, tap Add.
    Note An emergency contact must be created for SOS messages to turn on.
  7. From the 'Add recipient' message, perform one of the following:
    Note To change the contact later, tap Send messages to then tap 'Add' or 'Delete'.
    • To create a new emergency contact:
      1. Tap Create contact.
      2. Enter a name and 10-digit number.
      3. Tap Save.
    • To use an existing contact for the emergency contact:
      1. Tap Select from contacts.
      2. Tap the desired contact(s) to select (check).
      3. Tap Done.
  8. Tap the Back icon Back icon (upper-left) to return to the 'Send SOS messages' screen.
  9. Tap Attach pictures to turn on or off.
    Note Message will include a snapshot taken by the front and rear camera.
  10. Tap Attach audio recording to turn on or off.
    Note Message includes a 5-second audio recording.
