Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e - Move Music Files to Device

This helps you move or transfer music between your device and a computer/PC.

caution Only DRM free or unprotected music can be transferred via this method.

Note Notes:


  1. Connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
  2. If the device prompts for permission to transfer files, tap Allow.
    1. If necessary, touch and hold the Status bar (located at the top) then drag to the bottom.
      Note The image depicted below is an example.

    2. Tap USB Charging if present, then select File Transfer.
      Note Selected when a blue dot is present.
  3. Open File Explorer or Windows Explorer.
    Note Using the computer keyboard, press Windows+E ( windows key logo+E) keys.
    Note Alternatively, right-click Start then click Open Windows Explorer or File Explorer.
  4. Using File or Windows Explorer, navigate: Galaxy Tab S5e > Tablet > Music.
    Note Galaxy Tab S5e may be listed under the 'Portable Devices' section or under 'This PC'.
    Note If the files will be stored on an SD / memory card, navigate: Galaxy Tab S5e > Card then choose the location of the files.
  5. Use the computer to copy music and other audio files into the folder.
    Note For any accompanying artwork in JPEG format, rename the art file albumart.jpg and copy into the same folder as the music files.
  6. To further organize files, create a subfolder in the newly created music folder and copy desired music files into it.
