Samsung Galaxy A20 - Add a Virtual Private Network

A virtual private network (VPN) encrypts your internet traffic and protects your online identity via a secured remote server and is most commonly used when remotely accessing company systems (e.g., company email, intranet sites, etc.).

Note Contact the VPN admin for assistance with server info and credentials.

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    Note These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Connections > More connection settings.
  3. Tap VPN.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Settings icon (upper-right).
  5. Tap Add VPN profile.
  6. If presented with a lock screen notification, tap OK.
    Note Refer to Set Up Screen Lock for assistance.
  7. From the Name field, enter the appropriate name.
  8. From the Type field, tap the Dropdown menu Dropdown icon then select the VPN type:
    • PPTP
    • L2TP/IPSec PSK
    • L2TP/IPSec RSA
    • IPSec Hybrid RSA
    • IPSec Xauth PSK
    • IPSec Xauth RSA
    • IPSec IKEv2 PSK
    • IPSec IKEv2 RSA
  9. Enter the required info into the applicable fields then tap Save (lower-right).
    Note If applicable, tap Show advanced options to configure the following:
    Note The available options vary depending upon the selected VPN type.
    • DNS search domains
    • DNS servers
    • Forwarding routes
    • Username
    • Password
