Samsung Galaxy Note10 - Activate / Set Up Device

If you need to transfer contacts and media from one device to another, follow these step-by-step instructions before activating the new device.

Caution To avoid potential issues, review the following:

  1. If powered off, press and hold the Power button until the Samsung Galaxy Note10 screen appears then release.
  2. Select the appropriate language then tap the Start icon.

  3. To continue, select (check) the following then tap Next (lower-right):

    • Send Diagnostic data (optional)

  4. From the 'Phone Activation' screen, tap Next.
    Note If prompted, enter the account PIN then follow the onscreen prompts (see Account PIN FAQs for additional info).
    Note If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off.

  5. From the 'Bring your old data for quicker setup' screen, select the preferred option then tap Next.
    • Wireless
    • Cable and USB connector
    • Skip this for now

  6. From the 'Set up Wi-Fi' screen, select a network then enter the password.
    Note If you choose 'Skip', you can add Wi-Fi networks after setup is complete.

  7. Sign in to your existing Google™ account or create a new one.
    Note If you choose 'Skip', you can add your Google account after setup is complete.

  8. From the 'Google Welcome' screen, tap I agree.

  9. From the 'Protect your phone' screen, tap an option.
    Note If you choose 'Not now', you can add a screen lock or set up face or fingerprint recognition after setup is complete.

  10. From the 'Google Assistant' screen, select either 'No Thanks' or 'Turn on'.

  11. From the 'Google services' screen, select any of the following to turn on Switch on or off Switch off then tap Accept.
    Note If necessary, tap More to review additional services.

  12. From the 'Verizon Services' screen, tap Accept.

  13. 'Verizon Cloud' screen, tap Next.
    Note If you choose 'Skip', you can set up Verizon Cloud after setup is complete.

  14. From the 'Security & Privacy' screen, tap Accept.

  15. From the 'Sign in to your Samsung account' screen, sign in to your existing account or create a new Samsung account.
    Note If you choose 'Skip', you can add a Samsung account after setup is complete.

  16. From the 'Setup Wizard is complete' screen, tap Done.
