Samsung Galaxy A20 - Text Message Notification Settings

Note Ensure your apps are updated as the following steps apply to the most recent version.

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    Note These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
  2. Tap Messages Messages icon.
  3. If prompted to change the default SMS app, tap YES to confirm.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (middle-right).
  5. Tap Settings.
  6. Tap Notifications.
  7. Tap the Show notification switch to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
    Note When on, configure the following:
    1. Tap App icon badges to turn on or off.
      Note When on, a small dot appears on the app icon indicating there's a notification you may have missed.
    2. Select any of the following to configure:
      Note The available options may vary.
      • Notification style
        Note Tap then select the desired option (e.g., Sound and pop-up, Sound, Silent, Silent and minimized).
      • Sound
        Note Tap to select the desired option (e.g., Default, Silent, etc.).
      • Vibrate
        Note Tap to turn on or off.
      • App icon badges
        Note Tap to turn on or off.
      • Lock screen
        Note Tap then select the desired option (e.g., Show content, Hide content, Don't show notifications).
      • Ignore Do not disturb
        Note Tap to turn on or off.
