Safe Mode - Blackberry®

Safe Mode puts your phone in a diagnostic state (returned to default settings) so you can determine if a third-party app is causing your device to freeze, reset or run slow.


  1. Navigate to the BlackBerry article KB17877.
  2. Follow the instructions provided for: How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in safe mode.
  3. While in Safe Mode, remove the most recently installed apps.
  4. Power cycle the device then attempt to use the device.
  5. If the device works properly, install apps one at a time to identify the app causing the problem.
