My Media Retrieval

If you've recently replaced your basic phone and need to retrieve media (e.g., ringtones, Ringback Tones and wallpapers) and transfer it to the recently activated basic phone, view this info.

Note Certain content may not be available due to handset compatibility, expired subscription time, etc. Refer to these FAQs for additional info.
Note Although visible in the My Media screen, such items will be grayed out.

  1. Navigate to the Verizon Wireless website and enter the 10-digit mobile number then click Sign In.
    Note For assistance with signing in, refer to Log into My Verizon website.
  2. In the Search field (located in upper-right) enter My Media Retrieval.
  3. Click on My Media Retrieval.
  4. To continue, read the instructions then click Next.
  5. Select the available item(s) to be transferred to the new device then click Next.
  6. To continue, ensure I agree to the Terms and Conditions is checked then click Submit.
  7. If presented, click OK.
  8. Download any of the following items:
    Download Retrieved Ringtones
    Download Retrieved Apps


Download Retrieved Ringtones

Note Ringtones retrieved from the website will be sent via a picture message.

  1. From the Main screen, press the left soft key to choose "Message".
  2. Select Inbox.
    Note Utilize the 5-way navigation pad to highlight and the center button to select.
  3. Select a picture message.
  4. Press the right soft key to choose "Options".
  5. Select Save (As) Ringtone/Save Sound.
  6. Enter a name for the file if desired then press the center of the 5-way navigation pad.




Download Retrieved Apps

Note Notes:

  • A text message is sent to the device detailing the instructions to download the app.
  • Apps must be downloaded within seven days to complete the retrieval.


  1. From the Media Center (Get It Now) menu on the handset, select Extras.
    Note Utilize the 5-way navigation pad to highlight and the center button to select.
  2. Select Get New Applications.
  3. Select Get My Apps.
  4. Select an app.
  5. Select the desired pricing option.
  6. Select Yes or No when prompted to run app.
