Windows® Device Manager Conflicts - Verizon Wireless UMW190

Start Device Manager.

  • Windows 10
    • Right-Click Start > Device Manager.
  • Windows 8
    • Right-Click Start Screen > All Apps > Control Panel > System and Security > Device Manager.
  • Windows 7
    • Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Device Manager.

The following devices are normally installed:

Network adapters
Ports (COM & LPT)
PANTECH UMW190 Connection Port (COM x)
PANTECH UMW190 Diagnostic Port (COM x)
Universal Serial Bus controllers
PANTECH UMW190 Composite Device

Note If a conflict is present, a red X, yellow ! or yellow ? is displayed to the left of a listed device or may be indicated by a device entry labeled Other Devices or Unknown. The drivers must be updated or reinstalled.

If a conflict is present:

  1. Ensure that the device drivers are installed. Refer to Download and Install VZAccess Manager - Windows for additional assistance.
    Note If the device drivers are installed and a conflict is still present, continue to step 2.
  2. Right-click the device then click Update Driver Software.
    Note The device name may differ from the example shown.

  3. Click Browse my computer for driver software.

  4. Enter the appropriate driver location into the search window then click Next:
    Note The driver location can be entered manually or navigated to by clicking Browse.
    Note To determine the appropriate driver location, refer to Determining Vista 64-bit compatibility for assistance.
    • 64-Bit driver:
      • C:\Program Files\PANTECH\PANTECH\PANTECH USB Modem V2\AMD64
    • 32-Bit driver:
      • C:\Program Files\PANTECH\PANTECH\PANTECH USB Modem V2

  5. Click Close.
